Danielle and Tyler first met years ago when Tyler managed H.O.W II in Kinston, NC; a restaurant The Chapmans frequent enough to be considered family. The Everetts (owners of H.O.W II) quickly claimed Tyler as family and had watched Danielle grow up her whole life being friends with her parents. Even though Danielle and Tyler only knew each other by name for several years, when the timing was right, Mrs. Marenda Everett and Mr. Charles Chapman (Father of the Bride) had a plan cooking.
After Danielle’s father encouraged her to help Tyler out with some home renovation design plans, they got to know each other as friends. There’s still some debate between them on their technical “first date”. So we’ll let you pick your favorite: dinner at HOW II with Danielle’s parents then following drinks just the two of them, or lunch the next day at Basil’s and driving around Greenville looking at other people’s houses for the afternoon. They talked about anything and everything riding around that afternoon, from pasts and memories to what they each want for the future. From that day on, they knew this was something special and the answer to their prayers.
With living in two different towns a little over an hour apart (Greenville and Morehead City), they’ve made each other a priority since the beginning. They love to sit on the beach in the sun, snuggle up and watch a movie on their screened in porch, and lately doing house projects together. They also look forward to their standing Wednesday night date night at Baxter’s in New Bern which they’ve met for since the start. They’ve even made the locals menu there! No matter what they are doing, Danielle and Tyler cherish their time together as much as possible.
As some of you may know, Danielle is a planner. She plans projects in her work life. She’s the one that plans the trips with friends. She plans! With that being said, because she is a planner, she also doesn’t particularly care for surprises, especially out in public. On top of that, she’s a touch nosey. If you’ve ever tried to surprise her, you know how difficult that is. Tyler truly did surprise her when he told her he had to ask her one question before they went to run errands. She turned around and he was kneeling down with a beautiful ring in hand. Tyler planned the most thoughtful proposal and exactly as she requested, just the two of them and a true surprise.
We thought a lot about where we wanted to get married and a vacation destination for everyone seemed like the best fit for us. After we toured the Wild Dunes Resort and spent the weekend there, we knew it was the place!
We can’t wait to celebrate this new stage in life with all of you that we cherish and hold so close to our hearts!
